Falling in zone D of Delhi master plan, South Extension is located just off the main ring road near AIIMS. Market is divided in two parts, South Ext part 1 and South Ext part 2 across each side of the ring road. South Ex is one of the oldest and busiest markets of Delhi and till date continues to enjoy great foot fall of both gentry and masses. The market was established in early 60's as local shopping complex for residents of nearby residential areas.
Main market hub is a cluster of around 30 plots on either side of the ring road in the form of alphabet C each making part 1 and part 2. Few more commercial plots have come up on main ring road to either side of the main cluster after the area was notified for commercial activity a few years ago.
